Last Saturday of the Month Hike

To allow more participation in our walks, we will have Saturday hikes on the last Saturday of each month. On that week, there will not be a Wednesday walk.

On January 31, 2026, we will meet at SUUF at 10:15 am to carpool to Barnum Point Preserve in Camano, WA. Folk from Anacortes and La Conner may want to coordinate with Doreen (doreenuke@comcast.net) for carpooling.

This is a gorgeous County Park with easy, well-maintained forest trails leading to a beach that has views of Puget Sound and the Cascade Mountains, including Mount Baker. This walk is easy for children and “oldies”.

It is about a 30-minute drive from SUUF and is located at 278 S. Sunrise Blvd., Camano, 98282.

After the walk, we can get refreshments or brownbag at Camano Commons Marketplace. It has several food, bakery and coffee options and is located at 848 N. Sunrise Blvd., Camano, 98282.

There will not be a Wednesday walk on the last week of the months (i.e. no walk on 1/28/26).
