Doubt is often frowned upon in religious circles but our faith encourages us to doubt and question. Can doubt lead us to faith? And when is doubt not helpful even in our progressive religion?

The Rev. Dr. Barbara Wells ten Hove started her ministry at East Shore Unitarian in Bellevue, WA in 1985 and since then has served congregations in Washington, Colorado, Maryland and British Columbia. She and her husband, Jaco, retired in 2017 as Emeritus Ministers from Cedars UU Church on Bainbridge Island, WA and are now happily enjoying life in Bellingham, WA. While her focus in ministry was on worship and UU evangelism, in retirement she preaches occasionally, writes, sings in the Bellingham Unitarian Choir, volunteers at the church and does “noble chores” at her Co-housing Community. Service begins at 10:30 a.m.
