Abiogenesis is the idea that life arose from nonlife more than 3.5 billion years ago on mother earth. Life forms were very simple and gradually became complex.

On the other hand, Biogenesis, is life derived from reproduction of other life. The two ideas are quite different. Yet, they both might have occurred back then.
