Regenerate Skagit

Speaker:

Celebrant: Linda Kuller
Media: George Rogers-Clark

Regenerate Skagit is a place-based initiative rooted in the belief that we can learn to live in right relationship with one another and the Earth.

We are cultivating a culture of face-to-face connection, building trust, shared responsibility, and collective capacity within our community.

In the coming months, we will deepen our understanding of what is happening here by exploring the interconnections among our food systems, farms, waterways, energy flows, and patterns of land use.

We will examine how extraction shapes our relationship to the Earth and explore what it means to move toward reciprocity.

Regenerate Skagit seeks to amplify the work already underway in this region, connect people to existing efforts, and create pathways for meaningful participation. Service begins at 10:30 a.m.

Cindy has been a lifelong learner and a Unitarian Universalist since grade school in Austin and Dallas. Her first exposures to learning about nature and to world religions began in children’s religious education in Texas. Her wild heart was drawn to the Pacific Northwest in her late teens and she completed her Environmental Studies and Communications Degree with graduation from Evergreen College in Olympia in 1975.

50 years ago Cindy began her National Park and Forest Service career in the San Juan Islands. As a naturalist and environmental educator, Cindy spent the last 45 years in the North Cascades and Skagit Valley working with community and regional visitors. 40 years ago she and her family settled on a 17 acre farm and wetland along Childs Creek east of Sedro Woolley. In 1991 Cindy joined SUUF and became active on the board…while still pursuing diverse interests in art, community and nature. In cooperation with the Skagit Conservation District and the Fisheries Enhancement, wetlands on her farm became the first Conservation Reserve Enhancement Project for Skagit County.
