Woke, Woker, Wokest
Celebrant: Jim Heard

On this Super Bowl Sunday we explore what it means to be “woke,” and why—and how!—you should try to become woker than you already are.
Joseph Bednarik worked for three decades as a literary publisher. He graduated with a degree in philosophy at Haverford College and speaks regularly at Unitarian Universalist congregations in the Salish Sea region. A collection of his Sunday morning talks, Invited to Speak, was published in 2024. His home alter includes dozens of objects and figurines, including Bigfoot sitting in a lotus position, a bronze everything bagel, and the Blessed Virgin Mary. Joseph last spoke at SUUF on January 11th with a message entitled What Matters Most is Waking up.
